Blood Bond Episode 8: Finally.... Christmas!

Before I knew it, it was Christmas eve. I still haven't told my parents that I'm a vampire... and I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping. I know, I know, I should have finished a long time ago, but well I just couldn't think of what to get some people (mainly Xavier, and Hank... oh and I still haven't gotten Zandra or Fraya anything.) So, in order to find out what to get every one, it's time to start Operation: Presents!

Blood Bond: Episode 7: The Cat's Out of the Bag

As Christmas neared, things at Xavier's cottage slowly became more interesting. From my mother's camera skills to the adults' constant attempts to set up dates between Xavier and I. Just as I was beginning to feel like a normal high-schooler again, things changed dramatically.

It happened one day during dinner.

"Hey Xavier, can you pass me the rolls?" asks Hank (Xavier's dad in case you already forgot.)

"Yeah sure. Here"

It was about a week before Christmas. We're having  filet mignon for dinner (so far we have been treated to everything from lobster to caviar. Fraya is an excellent cook.) Everything seems to be fine until my dad accidentally cuts himself.

"Ow! Ah I'm bleeding. Can someone give me a bandage?" He asks sucking his finger.

Suddenly my heart starts beating faster. 'Oh no not now!' I think, my fangs slowly growing. "Um p-please excuse me" I say standing up.

"Oh? Are you alright?" asks Fraya, looking concerned.

"Y-yeah I'm fine I'm just full is all." I push in my chair and head towards my room. Hoping that Xavier wouldn't catch on.

I reach my room just in time. Just as I'm about to bite myself though, I hear a knock on the door.

Blood Bond: Episode 6: A Cabin in the Woods for Cristmas

Three weeks have passed and Mr. Brunner still isn't back. I'm beginning to think that Vixen had something to do with it. The rest of my class however (or at least all the boys, who have fallen head over heels for her, anyway) obviously doesn't sense anything suspicious.

Soon winter break will begin and everyone is discussing their plans for the holidays. Most of the people I've talked to recently are planning on visiting relatives or going on a vacation. I, on the other hand, will be doing little more than staying at home and visiting Zandra a few times.

I'm walking down to my locker to grab the things I will need over the break (it's the last day of school before the holidays) when I hear someone calling my name.

"ALOURA! Hey Al!" I turn around to see Xavier running towards me.

"Oh hi Xavier," I say, grinning.

"Um Aloura," he says, trying to catch his breath, "w-would you like to come to my family's cottage in Colorado for the holidays?"

"Oh," I say taken by surprise, "sure! I'd love to! I'll have to ask my parents though."

"They can come too if you'd like." He replies with a grin. "Call me when you know if you can come. We're leaving the day after tomorrow."

I can feel myself blushing as an interesting thought occurs to me: 'does this count as a date?'

Blood Bond: Episode 5: The New Teacher

"Hello everyone!" says Vixen cheerfully. Instead of a long black dress and cloak, today she's wearing a black mini skirt and a dark purple Oxford shirt that's like half way unbuttoned. I can almost feel all the boys in the room's eyes widen as they take in there new "sexy" teacher.

"Well see you," says the vice principal in the same monotonous voice, as he leaves us to the vampire woman.

"All right," says Vixen, giggling like a school girl, "you guys can call me Vicky, okay?"
At this point, I could tell that most (if not all) the guys had developed a crush on her. I rolled my eyes, knowing that from this point on none of us would be doing any real learning.

"So what do you guys normally do in homeroom?" continues Vixen grinning flirtatiously and confirming my suspicions. She flops down in her swivel chair sighing.

"Um Ms. Kuran," starts the class representative raising her hand, "y-you're supposed to take attendance
first."

"Hm? Oh could you please call me Vicky?" Insists Vixen.

"O-okay M-Ms. Vicky." Responds the class rep.

"Well it's a start. Anyways thanks-"

"Oh my n-name is Yue Ms. Vicky."

"Well than thank you Yumi."

"A-actually my name's Yue"

"Were's this uh attendance thingy?" Says Vixen,  completely disregarding Yue. "You there" she points to one of the boys, winking "could you please help me find it?" she flutters her eyelashes and gives him a winning smile.

"Uh I-I... Sure!" says the guy (I think his name is Toby or something) blushing like crazy. He stumbles up to the front to search for the attendance sheet.

Blood Bond: Episode 4: I Drink His Blood Again

Several days pass without me losing control again. Xavier and I have become really close (so much so that some of the school think that we're dating) Zandra and I eat lunch with him most days and things seem to be going great. I think that both you and I know that my normal high school life couldn't last long....

I walk into my homeroom to start another groggy Monday with Cheery Mr. Brunner, who for some reason isn't here at the moment 'that's odd' I think "Mr. Brunner's always here early...' Suddenly my heart starts pounding. 'Great not again' I think, snatching up the hall pass and strolling out into the hallway. Xavier's words keep floating around in my head: "If you ever need blood, just ask." Yeah right. I'm not going to bite him again. Not if I can help it at least.

I'm nearly to the lady's room when (of course) he shows up "Al? you okay?" he asks. I turn around to face him but before I can say anything, he says "you need blood don't you?"

"Oh no, I'm alright now thanks." I reply smiling.

He sees past it. "C'mon." he says rolling his eyes "I know you're lying, I can see it in your eyes. You're craving it aren't you?"

"Well I uh" I reply lamely, glancing at his neck. "M-maybe a little." I blush and look down, hating myself for admitting it.

"I thought so," Xavier says grinning, "hmm... This way" he grabs my hand and drags me towards a janitor's closet. "You first." He says holding the door for me.

"Th-thanks," I say praying that nobody sees us. I step inside the dark and dusty broom closet, my nose stinging (allergies.) Xavier steps inside as well, closes the door  and searches for a light switch. Meanwhile, I'm starting to feel claustrophobic, it IS a pretty tight fit. Then Xavier finds the light switch and flips it up. Blinking at the sudden brightness, I can feel my fangs growing longer and suddenly I'm not claustrophobic any more.

Blood Bond: Episode 3: A New Enemy

"Hello Vixen," says Xavier, "long time no see."

My eyes widen. 'How is she here?' I wonder to myself.

"Oh surprised to see me are you Xavier?" Says Vixen, her voice is like ice. "Oh and you can tell your little vampire friend that she can come out now." I feel my whole body turn cold, as if I had plunged head first into a vat of ice water. How did she know that I was here? Or what I was or that matter. My hands are shaking as I stand up to face one of the most beautiful yet terrifying women I have ever seen. She has long black hair that looks like the night sky without the stars, and a smile that makes me think of a cat about to pounce. Her skin is as pale as a winter morning.

"Hmph you really would choose her over me Xavier?" Vixen continues, "it seems that you've lost your taste. How pitiful."

"Wh-what do you mean he chose me?" I ask, cold shivers running down my spine.

"It doesn't mean anything Aloura, don't listen to her." Xavier says, and yet he's blushing. 'What is it he doesn't want me to know?' I wonder.

"You mean you didn't know?" teases Vixen, a sly grin playing across her lips. "You didn't know that once you drink a mortals blood you share a blood bond with them?"

Blood Bond: Episode 2: A Glimmer of Hope.

After a few seconds I regain consciousness. Leaping away from Xaveir I say "ohmigosh, I-I'm so sorry! I-I don't..."  'Don't what?' I think 'don't know what came over me? But I know exactly what happened.'

On the verge of tears I manage to look up at him. His face is kind of pale and full of shock, his hand at his neck where I bit him. He's bleeding, badly.

By this point, I'm trying as hard as possible to keep myself from crying when I hear Xaveir. Instead of screaming or passing out, he just looks at me and says: "s-so you're a vampire huh?"

That did it, now I was sobbing harder than I ever had before. I had drank the guy I'm hopelessly in love with's blood and he seemed like he was perfectly okay with it. "Ah man," I hear, from what felt like a long distance away, Xaveir say. The next thing I know, he's hugging me. "It's alright," he says "really, I'm okay. Now please stop crying, It's not your fault." This made me feel like crying harder, but after several deep breaths I managed to get a hold of myself.

"H-how can you be so okay with this?!" I ask him "I mean" I lower my voice, "I just b-bit you, and you seem totally fine with this!"

"Well" Xaveir replies, suddenly sounding grave "let's just say, you're not the first vampire I've met."

Blood Bond: Episode 1: And So, My World Just Fell Apart...

I'm going to tell you the story of how I lost everything......

No no NO! Don't leave! I promise this is NOT a depressing story. Really! just keep reading and you'll see.

It goes something like this:

"Aloura, wake up NOW!" my mother shouts, waking me from my slumber, "you'll be late for you first day of high school!"

"But Mom," I say, still half asleep and pulling the covers over my eyes to block out the sunlight pouring in, "can't I just have like, five more minutes?"

"Not if you don't want to miss your bus," she replies "honestly Al (my nickname) you sleep more than anyone I know."

"Ugh," I grunt, "Alright alright I'll get up..." I swing my feet over the side of my bed and stumble over to the bathroom to get ready.

After getting dressed, straightening my rats' nest of hair, and grabbing a Hot Pocket for later I run up to the bus stop, slinging my backpack over my shoulder as I go. I stand and wait for a few minuets before I feel a sharp prod on my upper back. Startled, I spin around to face my best (and only) friend Zandra, "oh 'morning Z," I say grinning. Zandra and I have been friends ever since first grade when I accidentally spilled grape juice all over her new dress; now, she was the only friend going with me to high school, ergo she was the best friend in the world to me.

"So we're in high school now huh?" she said the mischievous grin of hers spreading across her face, "you know what that means right? It means we can finally date high school guys! Woohoo!" she punched her fist in the air triumphantly. See Zandra's kind of interesting: she's a total tom-boy and yet she's also as boy crazy as they come.

"Um yeah okay" I reply. even after all these years, I still find her personality a bit unnerving.

Just as Zandra opens her mouth to speak, the bus pulls up. We step aboard (Zandra flirting with every cute guy she sees) and walk to the back. I slide over to grab the window seat and Zandra sits beside me.
